Connect Donation platform to SiteOps
A nonprofit doesn't sell — it's given to. The number it lives by is donations: one-off gifts, recurring monthly support, the total raised against a campaign. Without a read on the donation platform, SiteOps could show CleanWater Fund its traffic and its emails going out while the one figure that funds the work stayed off the page entirely.
Connecting your donation platform — Donorbox, Classy, or whichever holds your gifts — puts real gift revenue on the Donations KPI, read-only. A campaign email and the donations that followed it can be read together, so an appeal that moved money looks different from one that only got opened. When the goal type is Donations, this is the number the dashboard leans on.
It reads gift totals and nothing more. SiteOps never touches a payment, never sees a donor's card, and never changes a campaign. Disconnect and the reads stop the same minute.

If something does not work
- Donations aren't showing up
- Check the connection reads Connected in Settings, and that the key has read access to donations on the same account that collects your gifts. A key scoped to the wrong campaign or organization will connect but read nothing.
- Recurring gifts look off
- SiteOps separates one-off from recurring so a monthly donor isn't counted as a fresh gift every month. Read the recurring figure as ongoing support and the one-off figure as new gifts; the total is both together.
- Can SiteOps touch a payment or a donor's details?
- No — by construction. The key is read-only; there is no code path that processes a payment, edits a donor or changes a campaign. SiteOps reads totals so you can see the return, and nothing more.
- My platform isn't Donorbox — will it work?
- The donation connector is written to the common shape most platforms share: a read-only key over an API. Classy, Givebutter and similar tools connect the same way. If yours offers no API, donations can't be read yet, and the KPI stays honestly on its proxy with the warning showing.
