Connect Threads to SiteOps
Short posts, quick replies, real reach for plain words — that is Threads, Meta's text-first feed. For a small brand it fills the slot a text post needs: announcements, teasers ahead of a calendar event, the thread version of a blog article.
Threads runs on Meta's platform and every Threads profile is tied to an Instagram account. Connecting an outside tool goes through a Meta consent screen where you sign in with that Instagram account — you never type a password into SiteOps.
Once connected, SiteOps publishes the text posts you approve and reads back how each one did. Drafts wait in the Posts tab — including the ones your calendar events and routines order — and once you approve them they take a Calendar slot and go out without you opening the app.
One honest timing note: Threads publishing runs through SiteOps's own Meta app, which Meta reviews once for the whole platform. That review is a one-time SiteOps step, not something you do — but on a freshly reviewed app, publishing may take a short while to become available while Meta finishes granting it.

What a Threads post carries — 500 characters, media optional The green status in Settings only proves the login. A real post is the end-to-end test.
If something does not work
- The Meta window doesn't show my brand's profile
- You are signed in with the wrong Instagram identity. Sign out of Instagram in this browser, sign back in with the brand's account, then press Connect again.
- The connection is green but nothing publishes
- The publishing permission was declined on the consent screen. Disconnect Threads in SiteOps settings, connect again, and leave every permission switched on this time.
- The connection shows Needs attention after working fine
- Meta access tokens expire or get revoked when the Instagram password changes. Press Connect again and re-approve — takes under a minute.
- Which login do I use — Threads or Instagram?
- Instagram. A Threads profile is created from an Instagram account, and Meta routes tool access through that login. There is no separate Threads password to enter anywhere.
